The levels of the classes are defined according to the total time that each participant has been dancing, and because of the ambiguity that this entails, and to help the choice of level, we have provided a brief description of each. Please read it and attempts to situate yourself at a certain level. We trust in your responsability to make the choice, as it will be profitable for all assistants.
Auditions: All participants of the following Lindy Pass levels (Mestral and Llevant) will have a mandatory audition on Friday September 1st, at 10:00 am, before starting the first class and teachers will evaluate all assistants. The purpose is to ensure the homogenization of the classes according to the level of the participants in the same group. The levels Intermediate Advanced and Advanced will be divided into two groups to make each group as homogeneous as possible, so these levels will finally be divided into two groups: Intermediate Advanced A / Intermediate Advanced B and Advanced A / Advanced B, always according to the criteria of the teachers.
GARBI (Intermediate): between 1 year and 2 years and a half. You know the basics of Lindy Hop, you have assimilated the essence of Lindy Hop, and have basic knowledge of musicality, footwork and other technical aspects. You feel comfortable doing variations of Swing Out in different tempos, and steps like the Sugar Push and similar steps are no longer a mystery for you.
MESTRAL (Intermediate Advanced): between 2 years and a half and 4 years. You dance often in social dancing, and you perform basic and advanced steps, supplemented with musicality, footwork etc … You play with the rhythm, syncopation and other elements that implicates more advanced musicality, and you are able to memorize easily steps structures and choreographies. You feel comfortable at any tempo, and you’re able to swing out and make other figures at fast tempos.
LLEVANT (Advanced): between 4 and 5 years. You dance often in international workshops and festivals, and you participate at the advanced levels at the Jack & Jills. Your dance is very musical, and you are an expert playing with the rhythm, syncopation and other elements that implicates more advanced musicality. You are maybe teaching some beginner or intermediate levels in your local scene.
TRAMUNTANA (Invitational): More than 5 years. You are able to create your own structures of steps and choreographies, you are a teacher of intermediate and advanced levels in your city, and you are a well-known lindy hopper in your local scene and you influence newer dancers. You master the extreme tempos, both in slow and fast swing. If you want to sign up to this level, please note that you will be pushed to the max!
